Disney Photography How To ~ Dueling Dumbo’s

This photo of the newly installed dueling Dumbos was actually taken when New Fantasyland was still in previews and not yet open to the public. You’ll notice that in this picture the Dumbo sign hasn’t even been installed yet! For this shot I used my Nikon D800 with a 14-24 2.8 lens and stabilized using my Gitzo Traveler tripod. To get this shot with both of the dumbos you’ll want an extra wide lens. I captured 5 separate images which I merged into 1 for this shot. 2 to capture each of the dumbos in motion and 3 to capture a very large dynamic range of light for everything else including the stars. Next time you are by the dumbos at night, try doing a long exposure 10-30 seconds… with the changing colors of the Dumbos, each and every shot is unique!
