When you think about a vacation at you think about the four parks, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. Some even through in Downtown Disney or a water park into the mix but there are so many other great experiences outside of the parks that many aren’t even aware are offered. One of these is the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage.
Our last trip was to celebrate my daughter’s 3rd birthday. Like many young children, she was frightened of the sound of fireworks but she loved to watch them but seeing the fireworks over Cinderella’s Castle was not an experience I wanted her to miss. Thanks to the Pirates and Pals Fireworks voyage, she didn’t have to be.
The experience starts in a ballroom at the Contemporary Resort. The room is filled with ice cream (yes, even Mickey Bars), cake, cookies, popcorn, chips, fruit as well as a beverage selection. Each guest is given a pirate bandana and Captain Hook and Smee are there to greet each of you for a photo opportunity. After an hour or so, your pirate captains arrive and escort you to the ship. Guests board a large pontoon boat and set sail. On the way to the Seven Seas Lagoon, your pirate captain leads his crew (this means you!) in pirate songs, tells stories and jokes and hands out fun pirate gifts to the kids until the boat anchors right in front of the Castle and the show begins. The music from Wishes is piped through the speakers and the view of the fireworks is priceless. After the show you sail back to the marina at the Contemporary none other than Peter Pan is waiting to welcome you back.
Whether your first trip or tenth, the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage is worth considering. Call 407-WDW-PLAY to book your trip.
