Welcome and thank you for stopping by DisneyMamas.com for this week’s Wordless Wednesday post! Each week we link up with a great group of Disney Bloggers to bring you great Wordless Wednesday posts, all hosted by Deb at Focused on the Magic! Our theme this week is Retro Disney, which I am quite excited to hop through!
In December of last year I mounted a production of Peter Pan at the school where I teach. My love of Disney heavily influenced my design choices throughout the production, and my Peter Pan research board on Pinterest was (and still is) filled with images of Mary Blair’s original concept art for the film, images of the various parts of the attraction, and shots of the Chicken of the Seas restaurant as it appeared in the early days of Disneyland prior to becoming just The Columbia. The final production turned out fantastically, and I am proud to announce that my scenic design for the production was nominated for Best Scenic Design at the 2014 Dallas Summer Musicals High School Musical Theatre Awards (say that 3 times fast). I thought I’d share a bit of my research with you for this Retro Disney blog hop. I can’t personally claim credit for any of these images, but will happily link their sources below should you decide to take a look further.
