September begins the holiday time in Walt Disney World. The parks transform into a holiday wonderland, beginning with Halloween theming and then the beautifultransition of winter wonderland and Christmas decorations. Walt Disney World and Disneyland, throws a special party in honor of Halloween called, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party in Magic Kingdom and Disneyland.
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is a fun party for people of all ages. Guest of the party get to trick or treat in the park, attend a very special Mickey Boo-to-You parade, special fireworks show the Happy HalloWishes, and lots of character meet and greets. The characters are dressed up in Halloween costumes and this is a great opportunity to meet your favorite Villain. The Villains from the movies are rarely seen in the parks, but for the Halloween Party they are all out and ready to meet you. Guest of the party also attend the party in Halloween costumes. Disney does enforce a dress code for the event, no mask, no weapons, and no revealing costumes. There are special trick or treat spots throughout the park. The Trick or Treat locations are at the Alice and Mad Hatter’s Treat Party, which begins in Storybook Circus in Fantasyland, and at Br’er Rabbit’s Laughin’ Place Candy Patch near Splash Mountain in Frontierland. I have heard there may be a few new surprise candy stations, as well. So when you arrive at the party, make sure to grab the map designated for this special event. The trick or treat spots and character meet and greet locations will be marked on the map. Don’t forget to bring a trick or treat bag with you to the party or you can also purchase one in the parks.
The Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween parade, which begins with the Headless Horseman and features Disney characters in costume as well as the ghostly inhabitants of The Haunted Mansion. The Happy HalloWishes fireworks also features Jake Skellington and Sally from Tim Burton’s, Nightmare Before Christmas. Unlike the Christmas parade and Holiday Wishes fireworks, the special parade and fireworks can only viewed at the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Don’t forget to stop in the bakery’s because they have special Halloween treats!
